Berrrr months ahead

How is the Summer nearly over!

We are on the last Bank Holiday before Christmas and I have started thinking about Christmas decorations and gifts in advance. I crocheted some sweet little gnomes as tree decorations and got some cute snowflake buttons from https://kawaiisquirrel.co.uk/ to look like little bobbles on their hats. These will make great gifts as they will be easy to pop in the post and do not take too long to make. I have also popped them onto my Etsy Store just in case other people might like them.

Christmas Gnomes

I love greengages and had a very old tree at my last home. Unfortunately my new garden is not large enough to have one. Therefore it was lovely to see them for sale at my local supermarket.

I found this recipe for plum torte https://thelinkssite.com/delicious-elegant-plum-torte-recipe/

Therefore I used the greengages for this very delicious dessert. It’s great hot or cold.

Greengage Torte

I’m going to make some greengage gin this week too. I just need to buy another mason jar to store it in. This will make a nice little tipple for the Christmas Holidays. Flavoured gins are all the rage so I am going to look for some sweet little bottles to put it into once done to create a gift for some of my gin loving friends.

As we enter the ber months I wanted my meal planner sheets to be more autumnal and therefore created this printable, you can download this freebie below

Autumn Meal Planner

It’s my eldest daughter’s Birthday tomorrow which is the Bank Holiday Monday and we have booked afternoon tea at a local cafe. We love a good afternoon tea with little sandwiches, mini cakes and of course scones, jam and cream and lashings of tea. I often make for special occasions at home but we decided to go out for one this time as normally we would go out for an evening meal to celebrate but she is having a virtual party on line and playing games with all her on line friends from all over the world.

It’s such a different world when I was 22 I had just returned from living in L.A. so I probably celebrated with my friends at a Chinese Restaurant and drank far too much and laughed the entire evening. Oh those were the days! 😉

Those were the days!

Well I must be off now as I have to pick up my youngest daughter from the train station as she has returned from her University field trip to the Azores and I am looking forward to hearing all about it and seeing photos.
